Innovation Manager Faculty of Economics and Management

I started in my position as Innovation Manager on January 1, 2022. My role is primarily oriented towards two centres hosted at the Department of Industrial Economics and Technology Management (IØT): Centre for Excellence in Education (SFU) Engage, which focuses on entrepreneurship education and Centre for Environment-friendly Energy Research (FME) NTRANS, which focuses on energy transition strategies. I also work in supporting the development of an innovation culture in the department and in the Faculty of Economics through collaboration with the other innovation managers.

I have a masters in business administration (MBA) from the UK and a PhD in Entrepreneurship from IØT. Prior to my PhD I have worked with entrepreneurs, primarily social entrepreneurs, providing them finance and business development advice both in India and in the UK.

Høydepunkter fra 2022

  • Documentation and evaluation of student innovation focused activities at SFU Engage
  • Workshop on mapping the student innovation ecosystem at NTNU
  • Coordinating the course on ‘Research Based Innovation’ for PhD candidates run by SFU Engage
  • Discussions for developing format and content for new spin-off workshops on Research Based Innovation for PhD candidates at NTNU and beyond.
    –  This has led to several workshops for different groups of PhD students in 2023, which include PhDs at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, PhDs associated with an EU funded project on Floating Wind technologies, and PhDs associated with SFI Autoship.
    –   This is also an example of cooperation between Innovation Managers
  • Discussions on developing a Nordic PhD course on entrepreneurship and innovation with the Stockholm School of Entrepreneurship (SSES), Stockholm.
  • Workshops with industry and public sector partners in FME NTRANS on strategies for sustainable transition in urban areas
  • Leading the FME Innovation Forum and running a workshop with all FMEs to discuss and develop avenues for exchanging knowledge on innovation between FMEs.
  • Presentation on the importance of innovation to new PhD candidates at the Faculty of Economics.
